The Cuypershuis in Roermond, the museum dedicated to Pierre Cuypers, the renowned 19th-century architect, wanted to draw attention to Cuypers' work through creative structures. The Cuypershuis commissioned the creation of small models of several of Cuypers's well-known structures, complete with building instructions, for visitors to construct. Recognizability and the building experience were key. A building space has also been created where visitors can recreate or discover the patterns and structures in Cuypers' style.
We created 5 structures:
The Rijksmuseum 129 pieces
Amsterdam Central Station 135 pieces
The Munsterkerk 319 pieces
De Haar Castle 186 pieces
The Cuypershuis 279 pieces
The Rijksmuseum
One of the most visited tourist attractions in the Netherlands, the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
Amsterdam Central Station
Also Amsterdam, the central station building.
The Munsterkerk
For his hometown Roermond, Cuypers designed the Munsterkerk.
De Haar Castle
De Haar Castle is located in Haarzuylens. It's a unique building due to its asymmetric layout. It's a fun challenge to recreate in miniature as a Lego set.
The Cuypershuis
Cuypers also designed his own live-work building, which is now the museum dedicated to his work. It was therefore a must-have in the collection of buildings, along with the characteristic steps on the square in front of the museum entrance.
