A special request came through our Lego friend Bob. A young aspiring Lego master with a challenging medical background wanted to build his own creation in a brick shop with real Lego masters. So much fun! Of course we did: a collaboration between Make-A-Wish, ArneBrickDesign, and Studio NOP.
We called beforehand and exchanged information about what the young Lego master wanted to build. As an avid Formula 1 watcher, he really wanted a Formula 1 pit stop. Well, we knew what he was looking for!
After a pleasant online introduction, it was clear what the young Lego master wanted. We agreed he would sketch, and we would do the same. A plan emerged, for which we created construction drawings and pre-ordered the basic bricks. We also tried to incorporate his favorite driver into the plan as best as possible.
In the Lego workshop at Studio NOP, the three of us busily built. You can see the basics below. Then we decorated everything, with cones, minifigs, tires, equipment: everything a pit stop needs!
And below you can see what it looks like when it's finished. Well, "finished"? Of course, much more will be built and added! There were plenty of plans right away. The grandstands can be easily removed from the pit stop garages in four pieces, allowing for easy play and modifications in the garages.
A super fun experience to be part of and make possible.
And back home, this is what the racetrack looks like in action (in the living room). Probably a lot more fast cars will be added. Or more racetracks, snack stands, and what else?
