It all starts at breakfast

A LEGO Ideas contest asked us to depict "family." It's a tricky concept, but the breakfast table, where different lives converge and then each goes its own way, is a typical family scene.

Dad with a jacket, briefcase, and a hearty breakfast of bread, cheese, butter, and coffee. Mom with her bag and brush, having a leisurely breakfast of crackers, fruit, and a cup of tea. The teenager, with his schoolbag hanging on the chair, is having breakfast with a hot dog, and a phone at the table. The youngest of the family is having breakfast with a bowl of porridge and has all the toys and a bunny toy at hand.
