A build we created specifically for trade shows: among the abundance of castles, spaceships, and cars/trucks, let's create something that truly captures the imagination and is fun to play with!
We created The Garden. A section of garden near the facade of a house, where everything is displayed twice as large, revealing a world of detail and life. This enlarged display also reveals tiny people you might normally overlook ;-)

The Garden has 6 buttons on the front that control functions. This allows visitors to make things happen in The Garden themselves.
From left to right:
RED: Make the red flowers spin (mechanical)
ORANGE: Make the ants walk to their nest (motorized)
YELLOW: Lower the basket of freshly picked berries up and down the back wall (motorized)
GREEN: Make the two worms (caterpillars) emerge from the ground and kiss (mechanical)
BLUE: Make the boat rock back and forth in the pond as if it were a storm 'at sea' (mechanical, flywheel)
PURPLE: Make the dragonfly on the boxwood flutter its wings (motorized)
We exhibited this build at three trade shows, in Geel, Harmelen, and Baarn. The reactions were overwhelmingly positive, from young and old alike. Some returned again and again to see more of what was on display. One little girl absolutely insisted on going to the Baarn show, hoping to see what she saw in Harmelen: and yes, her GARDEN was back: so happy!
